Ice T wishing his followers a happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day prompted one X user to call him out for having a white wife.

On Monday (Jan. 19), the rapper and actor tweeted, “Hope you had happy MLK Day.. Some things never change.. Smh,” alongside a black and white photo of MLK being detained by two white police officers.

Ice T’s message urged verified user Annette Albright to respond. “You are married to a whole White Woman and talking about some things never change,” she wrote.

Ice T replied on Tuesday, writing, “Wow…. I have no words for this Bitch.. Smh.”

When other users also slammed Albright, she fired back quickly.

According to Wikipedia, Ice T’s wife, Coco Austin, has Serbian ancestry on her mother’s side; Serbians are considered white. The couple has been married since 2002 and welcomed their only child together, a daughter named Chanel Nicole, in 2015.

Albright, who appears to be Black, has an interesting background. Last April, an article in The Charlotte Observer described her as a former Democrat-turned-Republican who had run three times for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools board in North Carolina, losing each time.

In 2024, she spoke at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was recently present at the White House when Donald Trump signed two education-related executive orders into law.

“Registering as Republican is something I’m absolutely going to do. I just haven’t gone through the motions,” she told the outlet. “I do feel that I’m more conservative and that my values fall more in line with the Republican Party.”
