Emily Ratajkowski Dresses as JLo With Iconic Green Dress for Halloween

JLo's dress famously led to the birth of Google Images.

Emily Ratajkowski harnessed the power of Jennifer Lopez for Halloween.

On Thursday, Ratajkowski took to Instagram to share photos of her wearing a dupe of JLo’s legendary Versace gown from the 2000 Grammys red carpet.

“no limits all dreams,” Ratajkowski captioned the set of photos while wearing the sheer, foliage-patterned dress.

The caption is a nod to something Lopez said back then when she called herself a “crazy little girl who used to fucking be wild and [have] no limits, all dreams,” per Page Six.

In 2019, the 55-year-old told Vogue she didn’t think the dress was “all that risqué.”

She continued, “It was just one of those perfect moments. The dress was just provocative enough to make people interested. That was a moment that captured people’s imaginations, I think. In terms of my career, this dress really marked a moment in time.

“Even if you don’t know my music and you don’t know my movies, people know about that moment and that dress,” she added. “That was it.”

In fact, Lopez’s dress is the reason Google Images exists. After she donned the gown at the awards show, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt revealed that the Versace number is the reason the company developed Google Images.

"People wanted more than just text," he wrote of the browser. "This first became apparent after the 2000 Grammy Awards, where Jennifer Lopez wore a green dress that, well, caught the world’s attention. At the time, it was the most popular search query we had ever seen. But we had no surefire way of getting users exactly what they wanted: JLo wearing that dress."

In 2019, Lopez closed Versace’s Milan Fashion Week show by wearing an updated version of the iconic green dress.
