Ed Sheeran has opened up about the worst purchase he’s ever made — and it might seem like a crazy flex to a lot of people.
In the latest episode of Complex's GOAT Talk, the pop icon revealed that he bought an Aston Martin DB9 as his "first car." When asked by fellow guest Barry Keoghan why it was his worst purchase, Sheeran went on to explain that his new vehicle only lasted a day.
"I was driving back from the studio, and there's a country lane to get to my house," Sheeran began around the 18-minute mark in the video below. "I was driving down it, and there was this big puddle. I was like, 'I'll just drive slowly through this puddle. I start driving slowly … and I can see the water on my windows, and I'm like, 'Oh fuck!'"
He then said that the car "just stops" and that he was only a mile away from his home. "I keep trying to start it, and then I open the door. All this water comes in, and I left it on the road," he added. "Someone picked it up, and I haven't seen it since. But I just I just left it there."
Elsewhere in Sheeran and Keoghan’s conversation, the pair discussed their G.O.A.T. rap albums. While Keoghan said he’s a big fan of 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Sheeran said he likes albums from the Shady Records and Aftermath Entertainment imprints, like The Game’s The Documentary, Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP, and Dr. Dre’s 2001.
As far as favorite rappers, both favor British MCs, with Sheeran naming Wretch 32, Devlin, Skepta and JME, and Keoghan naming Stormzy and Dave.
