Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has brought some of his gym habits to movie sets.

In a new GQ cover story, the actor was asked about the rumor that he pees in bottles on set.

“Yeah. That happens," Johnson said matter-of-factly.

Back in 2017, Johnson accidentally revealed that he pees in water bottles during his workouts after a bottle of urine was seen in an Instagram clip. He provided some more context to his routine in 2021, telling Esquire that he only pees in old plastic water bottles. “These are just bottles that I’m no longer using. And usually, the gyms that I work out in don’t have a bathroom,” he explained at the time.

Elsewhere in the interview, Johnson took the time to address reports that he chronically arrived late to the Red One set. According to The Wrap, Johnson was late seven to eight hours a day, causing the film’s production budget to balloon to $250 million.

“Yeah, that happens,” Johnson said in reference to being late. “But not that amount, by the way. That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous.” Johnson also called speculation that he's difficult to work with “bullshit.”

Johnson’s Red One co-star, Chris Evans also weighed in, saying that Johnson was sometimes late because of his morning workouts, but it was built in to the production.“This is something that the producers, the director, and it’s all his team, so they all know this. It’s not like he’s late unexpectedly, and I wouldn’t even call it late," Evans said. "He comes in slightly later on certain mornings, but it’s part of the plan. It’s worked into the schedules and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he’s scheduled to show up."
