Damon Wayans isn’t shy about how much money he made from his sitcom, My Wife & Kids.
The iconic actor and comedian sat down with Shannon Sharpe for Club Shay Shay, where the host brought up recent comments Bentley Evans made about him and Jamie Foxx never having received a syndication check from The Jamie Foxx Show.
Wayans revealed that it hasn’t been the case for him.
“It was on a network, right?” he said of The Jamie Foxx Show, which aired on The WB. “I made a lot of money off of My Wife & Kids. I can’t relate to that.”
“With WB, my brothers didn’t really make money off the Wayan’s Brothers show. Like I said, I made a lot of money from Wife & Kids. I still get checks,” he added, grinning into the camera. “Not to rub it in but I still get checks.”
My Wife & Kids aired from March 2001 to May 2005 for a total of five seasons. It later became syndicated in September 2005, re-airing on a handful of Tribune stations.
The Jamie Foxx Show also had five seasons from 1996 to 2001, as did The Wayans Bros., which aired from 1995 to 1999. The latter became syndicated on networks like UPN and WGN.
