Hollywood had a huge presence at Team USA’s World Cup match against Türkiye.
On Thursday (June 25), the two teams faced off in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, with Türkiye defeating the US 3-2. According to People, Brad Pitt, Paris Hilton, Edward Norton, Dave Franco, Jessica Alba, Will Ferrell, Keegan-Michael Key, Kelly Rowland, and Lance Bass were among the celebrities in attendance at the World Cup game.
Hilton also presented the match ball prior to the game, walking onto the field while holding hands with her 3-year-old son, Phoenix, and 2-year-old daughter, London.
“The energy tonight was #Iconic,” she wrote in an Instagram story. “Truly an experience I would never forget.”
According to TMZ, Colin Farrell, Ashton Kutcher, Scottie Pippen, Leonardo DiCaprio, Owen Wilson, Gabrielle Union, and James Cameron were also in attendance.
Even though Team USA lost, they still landed a spot in the next round. On July 1, they’re set to play Bosnia and Herzegovina in Santa Clarita, California.
As of June 24, the US sits at No. 14 in the World Cup rankings, per USA Today. Argentina is No. 1, France is No. 2, Spain is No. 3, England is No. 4, and Brazil is No. 5. Morocco, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, Belgium, Colombia, and Croatia are also ahead of Team USA, in that order.
