The ongoing ICE raids in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago have everyone tense.

Aziz Ansari stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he revealed he’s now living in London after marrying his wife, Serena Skov Campbell, in 2022.

“I haven't been in L.A. in a while. I haven't been here since all this ICE stuff started happening,” the comedian said. “I'm all nervous. I got friends, they're like, ‘We're hiding our nanny in the basement. We might have to raise our kids. We don't know what we're going to do.’"

He continued, joking, “I’m on edge, man. I'm carrying my passport all the time just in case people haven't seen the shows, you know? Although I do think it would be amazing if they did grab me ‘cause there'd be an incredible viral video where all these people are like, ‘Oh my god, that's the guy from Parks and Rec…he made Master of None. Oh my god, they're arresting Kumail Nanjiani.”

Last week, ICE agents were deployed to Chicago for a late-night raid that saw US citizens and families pulled from their beds and detained. Agents descended from helicopters onto rooftops and broke down doors in the middle of the night, as part of an ongoing effort from the Trump administration to combat Chicago’s status as a sanctuary city. According to DHS officials, a total of 37 people were arrested during the raid.

Of course, at this point, we are all too familiar with ICE raids in LA. In late August, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that ICE and US Border Patrol had arrested 5,000 people in LA since June.
