'Avengers: Endgame' Could Have an Impact on 'Spider-Man: Far From Home'

Spider-Man’s next chapter, Spider-Man: Far From Home might clear up a scene at the end of Avengers: Endgame that has fans confused, EW reports.

Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo touched on the idea that the scene could be set before the snap in Infinity War, while also clarifying an issue with Peter Parker.

As Endgame draws to a close, we watch as the remaining heroes go back to their lives—in some cases, some return five years after dying in the Snap.

Five years have gone by since Tom Holland’s Peter Parker said, “Mr. Stark, I don’t feel so good,” but when he goes back to his high school, he sees someone familiar: his friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon). But shouldn’t his classmates have graduated from high school by now? Both yes and no, the Russos reveal.

“So… Ned disappeared as well,” Joe Russo told EW. “That’s the two of them seeing each other for the first time after having disappeared.”

One component future Marvel movies are set to actively deal with is how characters who haven’t been around for five years are trying to fit into a world that’s moved on.

Some fans theorize that Far From Home will take place before the Snap. Many characters from the Far From Home trailer don’t look any older, which has fed the pre-snap hypothesis. Even though half the population was obliterated “doesn’t mean that everyone that they went to high school with didn’t disappear,” Russo said.

“There could be kids who are now much older than them and no longer in high school,” he added. “But Ned and he both disappeared and are returning in that moment.”

While we may find out what happened to M.J. (Zendaya), Betty Brant (Angourie Rice), and Flash Thompson (Tony Revolori), the new Spider-Man trailer doesn’t feature Liz Allan at all. Portrayed by Laura Harrier in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Allan was a senior who moved to Oregon at the end of Homecoming. She was also Vulture’s daughter and Peter’s date to the dance, and the most logical contender to have survived the Snap.

If she did ride it out, she would be closer to a high school reunion than graduation.
