Warner Bros.Aquaman debuted with a bang in China, pulling in $93.6 million two weeks prior to its U.S. premiere, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Aquaman has broken the record for largest opening ever in China for any Warner Bros. film, outdoing Ready Player One by 66 percent. The new DC entry stars Jason Momoa and co-stars Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, and Dolph Lundgren.

Aquaman first-week earnings is 92 percent ahead of Justice League, 78 percent ahead of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and past the total lifetime earnings of Wonder Woman. It also landed the largest industry opening for all of December, dominating 85 percent of market share.

Warner Bros. chose to release Aquaman in China first, with other foreign markets to follow next week, to get ahead of the congestion that year-end holiday films bring.

Momoa also hosted the most recent Saturday Night Live , where he appeared in a Game of Thrones talk show parody sketch that resurrected Khal Drogo. The bit was titled “Khal Drogo’s Ghost Dojo,” where the deceased characters appeared to speak with Drogo and host Kenan Thompson.

Aquaman debuts in North America on Dec. 21.
