Anthony Mackie is perplexed by fans’ memes about his facial expressions.
Mackie sat down with Danny Ramirez for the latest installation of Dad Jokes, where they were shown a meme about Mackie’s knowing smile.
“Bruh Anthony Mackie always look like he know something about you,” the meme said.
“I’ve seen this before and I still don’t get it. I wanna get it,” the Captain America actor said. “Do you get it?” he asked Ramirez.
“Don’t look at me like that. You don’t know anything about me,” Ramirez said, playing into the joke, which prompted them both to laugh.

Mackie stars in Captain America: Brave New World as Sam Wilson/Captain America, alongside Ramirez, who plays Joaquin Torres/Falcon. The film also stars Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Xosha Roquemore, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford.
Mackie recently found himself immersed in controversy over remarks about Captain America. Last month, he reminded fans of the “universal characteristics” of Captain America.
“For me, Captain America represents a lot of different things and I don’t think the term ‘America’ should be one of those representations,” Mackie said in a clip. “It’s about a man who keeps his word, who has honor, dignity, and integrity; someone who is trustworthy and dependable.”
However, some fans took that as him dissing their beloved USA, which compelled Anthony to later add on his Instagram Story, that he is “a proud American” and called it “the honor of a lifetime” to play the Captain America character.
