Watch Megan Fox and MGK Grill Each Other About Their Relationship and More

Though they became official in 2020, Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly had their first interaction years before. MGK recalled the exact moment during their appearance on GQ’s The Couples Quiz, where they grilled each other on a wide range of topics including their favorite movies, extensive tattoo collections, and bucket lists.

The celebrity couple said they met during a GQ party in Los Angeles, and Fox’s first words to MGK were, “You smell like weed.”

“And I said, ‘I am weed.’” MGK recalled.

“And then you vanished,” Fox said.

Fast-forward to 2020, when they reunited on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass, a crime thriller in which they co-starred alongside Bruce Willis, Emile Hirsch, and Lukas Haas. Fox and MGK went Instagram official in the summer of 2021, and quickly became one of entertainment’s most-talked about power couples.

Throughout the video, it becomes clear Megan and Kelly have learned quite a lot about each other during their relatively new romance—but of course there are still some areas where they could learn more. Case in point? MGK just barely failed to list every one of Fox’s tattoos, unable to recall exactly what phrase she had inked on her back.

“Butterflies have gilded wings?” he guessed.

“Close,” Megan responded, before giving him a few hints. “Do you know where it’s from? Shakespeare. Go for the butterflies.”

MGK took a couple more stabs at it, before Fox finally told him it’s, “We will all laugh at gilded butterflies,” from King Lear. “What does the Nietzsche quote on my ribs say?” she went on to ask.

“We aren’t doing AP literature class right now,” MGK said. “That’s for sure not happening.”

The musician went on to redeem himself moments later when asked to name an item on Fox’s bucket list. “To be abducted by a UFO,” he answered, securing two bonus points from his girlfriend.

Another highlight from the Q&A session is Fox asking Machine Gun Kelly to share details of their first proper date. He recalled picking up the actress in a Cadillac and taking her to Topanga Canyon, where he covered a hill with thousands of roses.

“And we ate sushi and we shared a kiss. Our first date, we breathed each other, that was all we did,” he said, trailing off with “and then our second date…”
