It sounds like Issa Rae has another HBO project in the works.

Just a year after her Insecure series debuted on the network, Deadline reports the actress/writer/director/producer is developing a new HBO drama that follows a black family in early-1990s Los Angeles. The show will reportedly focus on husband and wife, Jackson and Sheryl. The former is "a conflicted LAPD anti-gang task force recruit," while the latter is an "envelope bounds-pushing real estate agent." The couple’s teenage children—daughter Ebony and son Les—will also be featured.

Rae will executive produce the untitled series, along with The Turner House author Angela Flournoy.

"I’m so thrilled to be working with Angela," Rae told Deadline. "I was a huge fan of The Turner House and we feel so lucky to bring her beautiful storytelling to HBO."

Flournoy , a NAACP Image Award nominee, will also write the series.

According to Deadline, Dave Becky & Jonathan Berry at 3 Arts and Montrel McKay at Apex Content Ventures have also signed on as executive producers.

2017 has been a huge year for Rae. Shortly before the season two finale of Insecure, it was announced the show had been renewed for a third season.

Not too long after, it was revealed that Rae had landed her first major movie role alongside Amandla Stenberg, Regina Hall, Algee Smith, Lamar Johnson, and Common. The film, titled The Hate U Give, is based on the Angela Thomas novel of the same name.
