The Monsterverse is set to invade the small-screen.
According to Deadline, AppleTV+ has ordered a live-action television series featuring Godzilla and the other Titans. The untitled spinoff show will be produced by Legendary Television and executive produced by creators Matt Fraction and Chris Black; the latter of whom will also serve showrunner.
The show will continue the franchise’s story that began with 2014’s Godzilla flick. The project was followed by 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong—all of which collectively earned nearly $2 billion at the global box office.
Per the logline released by AppleTV+:
Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold of Safehouse Pictures will also executive produce with Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita for Toho, the company that owns the licensing rights to Legendary.
AppleTV+ has yet to announce a premiere date or any casting information. The announcement comes as Legendary develops another untitled film set within the Monsterverse. Netflix is also set release a Skull Island anime series that will reportedly follow a shipwrecked crew.
