James Cameron and Tim Miller are Teaming For a Sixth and Final 'Terminator' Movie

In the same way that Terminators keep coming no matter how many bullets penetrate their skulls, the franchise itself seems invincible as well, no matter how many lackluster installments hit multiplexes. According to Deadline, a sixth Terminator film is officially in the works, even after the box office and critical turd that was Terminator: Genisys.

So how does the fabled franchise regain the trust of audiences who first fell in love with James Cameron’s original Terminator and its iconic sequel, T2: Judgment Day? Well, bringing back Cameron himself is certainly a good start. What about hiring the visionary mind behind last year’s genre-redefining juggernaut Deadpool? Yep, that works too. Well, get excited kids, because that’s exactly what’s happening.

According to the report, Cameron and director Tim Miller will develop a brand new Terminator film together, with Miller behind the camera. This will also mark the first time Cameron is directly involved in a Terminator film since 1992’s T2, which became an instant classic upon its release. Does that mean the sixth film will be a direct follow-up, or will it pick up where Genisys left off (please god, no)?
