You're welcome.

None

Another week has passed, and according to the calendar—not the weather—it is now officially Spring. You made it, champ! Now pat yourself on the back, put on some fleece, and go outside because even if temperatures remain freezing, SPRING HAS ARRIVED, DAMMIT. Here are a few tempting treats to get you out of the house, and since you're saving cash so you can live like Humaid Abdalla Albuqaish, all of these things are free. You're welcome.

Hot Rabbit

Go dancing! Hot Rabbit is a weekly LGBTQ party, BUT, even if you only swing in the heterosexual hemisphere of dating, the party is most typically inhabited with a cute crowd. Go with your friend and try to maneuver a sandwiching formation in between some of the cuteness or bring that special someone and show off your pelvic thrusts. Admission is free if you like their Facebook page and get the password.

Folk Couture: Fashion and Folk Art

Thirteen contemporary designers were asked to select an artifact from the museum and use it to frame the aesthetic of an entire look. They ended up making some absurdly eclectic pieces, some of which are, quite frankly, pretty badass.

The show includes over 25 pieces ranging from large scale paintings incorporating Warhol and Basquiat to smaller compositions depicting characters from Toy Story and Tron.

SLV

When: Friday, March 21
Location: BAM

Time: 9 p.m.

Sandra Lilia Velásquez, former lead singer of the acclaimed Latin-folk band Pistolera, has a distinct voice; described as a hybrid of Sade's intensely personal, coo-ey style with the vocal textures of Gloria Estefan. Surrender to the Latin flavors of SLV and maybe you'll even find a chica to dance (closely) with.

Anamanaguchi + Maxo + Awkwafina + DJ Alex English

When: Friday, March 21

It's a tribute to Nintendo! Anamanaguchi (whom you may have seen on MTV Weird Vibes' Seapunk episode) and friends pay homage to the beloved, now vintage, gaming system with high-energy, synth'd out sounds to emulate the mode of being in a tight race on Mario Kart...kidding! It's funky! So head down and see if you can recognize any of the soundtracks. I think we all remember how hard the DK theme song bangs.
