Let's be honest: Michael B. Jordan would make an awesome Boba Fett.

Han Solo is getting his own solo spin-off, so why not Boba Fett? Everyone's favorite clone-turned-bounty-hunter will get his own origin story movie, and Screen Crush reports that Lucasfilm is allegedly eyeing Michael B. Jordan for the starring role. The film will fall under the Star Wars solo-project umbrella that already includes the young Han Solo movies and Star Wars: Rogue One.

The as-yet-unsubstantiated rumor came from Jeff Sneider on and episode Meet the Movie Press. Sneider usually writes for The Wrap, so the fact that his report didn't make it onto the site means it's still a little too shaky to be confirmed. Josh Trank was rumored as the director on the project, but after the fiasco that was Fantastic Four, he either left or was fired. But if Trank was involved, choosing Jordan to play Fett would make sense—he's worked with the director twice before.

Boba Fett remains a mysterious figure for many Star Wars fans. He appears twice in Lucas' original Star Wars series: Once in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones as a child (his father is bounty hunter Jango Fett), and then in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi as an evil bounty hunter hired by Darth Vader. Not much is known about his life between films, so the solo movie will be an enlightening look at his (sort of twisted) character development. Given Fett's angst, his complexity, and his badassery, Jordan seems like a great pick.
