Police in Texas fatally shot an unarmed, 19-year-old black man who's accused of burglarizing a car dealership.
The Star-Telegram reports that Arlington police officers were responding to a burglary call at a Buick dealership after a security guard saw a man use his car to ram through the dealership's showroom window.
“The officers went and confronted him. There was an altercation. An officer discharged his weapon and struck the suspect,” a police spokesman told the newspaper.
The man, who police said was unarmed, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as Christian Taylor, a student and football player at Angelo State University.
Member's of Taylor's family aren't buying the burglary accusations. From the Star-Telegram:
The shooting is currently under a criminal and an administrative investigation, police said. The officer involved in the shooting, Brad Miller, 49, reportedly graduated from the police academy in March.
