Oasis is offering support to the family of a man who fell to his death from the upper deck at one of the band's recent shows.

The Metropolitan Police Department confirms a 40-year-old man died after sustaining injuries related to a fall inside London's Wembley Stadium during an Oasis concert on August 2.

A statement from the venue thanked first responders, who acted quickly in an attempt to save the man, saying, "Despite their efforts, the fan very sadly died." The statement continued, "Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers."

Despite the tragedy, the show continued on. Oasis later addressed the man's death in a statement to The Guardian, saying, "We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”

It's possible the band also included another dedication to the fan during their gig at Wembley the night after the incident, sharing a message before they played "Live Forever" by saying, "This one’s for all the people who can’t be here tonight, but who are here if you know what I mean, and aren’t they looking lovely. Live Forever.”

The Metropolitan Police Department is asking anyone who may have seen the man's fall to come forward with information, adding, "The stadium was busy, and we believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage.”

Brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are back together as Oasis for the first time in 16 years, playing seven shows at Wembley and five in Manchester before hitting the United States, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Australia and then going to South America.
