Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are an unlikely pair to be grabbing dinner, but that's exactly what went down during a recent tour stop for the singer.
TMZ posted footage of the two apparently having a great time over a shared meal in Montreal on Monday, July 28. According to the report, Perry and Trudeau were spotted dining at Le Violon in Montreal, Quebec.
TMZ claims security was close by while the two dined, standing just on the other side of a glass wall while the pair enjoyed cocktails and at least one dish that contained lobster.
It's unclear if the two are just friends or if the dinner date was something more. Perry's currently on a world tour with a show in Montreal on July 30, so the timing of the meetup makes sense given she was already planning to be in town.
Of course, Perry recently went through a very public split with Orlando Bloom several weeks ago. The pair got engaged back in 2019 but were never married despite spending nearly a decade together. They also share a daughter, four-year-old Daisy Dove Bloom.
In a joint statement announcing their separation, reps for the two said, "Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
Trudeau is also recently single, the former Canadian PM and his wife, Sophie, announced they were separating in August 2023 and soon after filed for divorce. Justin resigned as Canadian Prime Minister earlier this year after falling out of the public's favor.
Perry's got another show in Quebec City on August 1 and in Toronto on August 5 and 6 before she heads back to The United States for a string of shows ... so fans will surely be working to find Justin in the crowd.
