High Noon, a popular mixed cocktail beverage company, has issued a recall after cans of the non-alcoholic energy drink, Celsius, were accidentally filled with alcohol and included in High Noon packages.
A release from the FDA announced High Noon is recalling two production lots of its Beach Variety 12-packs. The release states, "Some of these packs contain cans that are filled with High Noon vodka seltzer alcohol and are mislabeled as CELSIUS ASTRO VIBE Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition with a silver top. Consumption of the liquid in these cans will result in unintentional alcohol ingestion."
The mislabeled beverages were allegedly shipped out between July 21 and July 23 to distributors in Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin. From there, the FDA says the products were sent to retailers in Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin.
At this time, the FDA states, "No illnesses or adverse events have been reported for this recall to date." As for how the mix-up occurred, the report states High Noon's can supplier, which it shares with Celsius, accidentally shipped empty Celsius cans to High Noon. The Celsius cans were then filled with High Noon's product and included in packaging.
Consumers are asked to dispose of the Celsius cans impacted by the mix-up and can contact customer support for the company with further questions or concerns ... including refunds.
The FDA release includes the lot codes of the products impacted by the recall, and consumers are urged to check their packages to determine if the products they purchased may contain the wrong drinks.
Celsius has continued to grow in popularity over the years, with a financial report from the company revealing they made $1.36 billion in revenue in 2024. The company saw retail sales grow 22% from the year prior.
