Marvel's Luke Cage is fueled by '90s hip-hop and soul, and the Netflix series will continue to pay homage to the culture in its upcoming season.

Cheo Hodari Coker, the creator, executive producer and show-runner of Luke Cage, revealed that the episodes in season two are named after Pete Rock & CL Smooth songs. "Season Two's episodes are named in honor of PETE ROCK & CL SMOOTH. @PeteRock you had no idea, did you? Lol," he tweeted.

The rap duo only have two studio albums under their belt: 1992's Mecca and the Soul Brother and 1994's The Main Ingredient. Prior to the albums, Pete Rock & CL Smooth dropped their debut EP All Souled Out in 1991. Their signature tune "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)" is their highest-charting single, peaking at No. 58 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Coker began this trend of infusing rap into the show with the first season of Luke Cage, whose episodes all had titles lifted from Guru and DJ Premier's rap group Gang Starr discography. They included tunes like "Suckas Need Bodyguards," "DWYCK," "Soliloquy of Chaos," and "You Know My Steez."

So which Pete Rock & CL Smooth songs will be selected for season two? Maybe their 1992 single "Straighten It Out"...or how about the basement party starter "The Creator"? We'll find out when Luke Cage makes its return for season two on June 22.

Catch the teaser trailer, which is brilliantly set to Eric B and Rakim's "I Ain't No Joke," right here.
