Taylor Swift is shutting down speculation about a rumored fallout with Jack Antonoff, making it clear their relationship is still intact despite recent online chatter.
In a new interview with The New York Times Magazine published April 28, Swift addressed the rumors directly after fans noticed Antonoff was not credited on her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl.
“Jack Antonoff is a collaborator of mine and one of my best friends,” she said, reaffirming their longstanding partnership. The comment arrives after weeks of speculation that the absence signaled a creative or personal split.
Swift also offered insight into how the two continue to work together, highlighting a songwriting approach they’ve developed over the years. She described what they call a “rant bridge,” a technique that leans into heightened emotion within a track.
“It’s basically like stream of consciousness, endless pouring-out of emotion, intrusive thoughts, blended with metaphor,” she explained, adding that the goal is to build toward the most intense point of the song.
The clarification comes amid a busy period for Swift, who has remained in the headlines not just for her music but also for her personal life. She and Travis Kelce have been the subject of ongoing attention surrounding their reported wedding plans, with multiple dates and locations circulating in recent weeks.
Swift and Antonoff’s history dates back to 2012, when they first connected before working together on “Sweeter Than Fiction” in 2013.
Since then, Antonoff has played a major role in several of Swift’s projects, including 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department, as well as her re-recorded albums.
Both artists have consistently spoken about their working relationship in public. When Swift accepted Song of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards for “Anti-Hero,” she referred to Antonoff as “one of my best friends in the world,” adding, “He’s so talented it’s incomprehensible.”
Antonoff has also publicly praised Swift’s work, sharing his support for her projects on social media, including The Tortured Poets Department.
