The first full trailer for Street Fighter has arrived, and Paramount is making it clear that this isn’t a small-scale reboot.
Released Thursday morning, April 16, ahead of the studio’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas, the footage offers the clearest look yet at the upcoming adaptation of Capcom’s iconic fighting franchise — including the first real glimpse of WWE stars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes in action.
Per Deadline, the trailer leans heavily into the series’ roots, mixing globe-trotting martial arts battles with a heavy dose of early-'90s style. Set in 1993, the film follows estranged fighters Ryu and Ken Masters, played by Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo, as they are drawn back together by Chun-Li, portrayed by Callina Liang.
According to the film’s synopsis, the trio becomes entangled in the next World Warrior Tournament, where a larger conspiracy begins to emerge behind the scenes.
While Koji and Centineo lead the story, much of the attention surrounding the trailer has centered on the movie’s massive supporting cast. Roman Reigns appears briefly but memorably as Akuma, while Cody Rhodes makes his first appearance as Guile.
The footage also showcases Jason Momoa as Blanka, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Orville Peck as Vega, and Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki.
WWE had already woven the project into Reigns’ on-screen storyline. Last fall, he disappeared from WWE programming after being stretchered out following a brutal post-match attack by Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker at Clash in Paris. WWE framed the absence as a serious injury, complete with updates that Reigns had undergone MRI scans and X-rays in Paris.
Behind the scenes, however, the hiatus allowed him to film Street Fighter in Australia.
Months later, Reigns returned to Raw, reigniting speculation about the original Bloodline reuniting.
The movie itself has been building for more than a year. Legendary acquired the rights to Street Fighter in 2023, with Kitao Sakurai eventually stepping in to direct after the project changed hands. Production wrapped in late 2025, and Paramount later shifted the release to October 16, 2026.
