Odessa A’zion may be the latest name entering Marvel’s mutant conversation. According to insider Jeff Sneider, the actress is being considered to play Rogue in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot, a project that remains in development as the studio continues to assemble its creative team and map out a new version of the iconic superhero franchise.

The report surfaced during an appearance on John Rocha’s Hot Mic podcast, where Sneider said Marvel has shown interest in A’zion for the role. “Marty Supreme star Odessa A’zion as Rogue,” he said while discussing actors reportedly being considered for the film.

Sneider also claimed that Peter Claffey, who stars in HBO’s hit show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is being looked at for Beast.

A’zion has steadily built momentum in recent years with roles in Hellraiser, Sitting in Bars With Cake, and, of course, her breakthrough role in Marty Supreme. She is also the daughter of actress and filmmaker Pamela Adlon.

If the Rogue casting comes to pass, it would mark the biggest role of her career to date and place her at the center of one of Marvel’s most closely watched projects.

The character has a long history on screen. In Fox’s original X-Men trilogy, Rogue was played by Anna Paquin and introduced as one of the franchise’s emotional anchors.

That version of the character was portrayed as a frightened teenager struggling to control her ability to absorb memories, powers, and life force through physical contact. The films also emphasized her close relationships with Wolverine and Iceman.

However, the movie version differed sharply from Rogue’s comic-book counterpart. The comics traditionally depict Rogue as one of the X-Men’s most formidable members, complete with super strength, flight, and a distinctly Southern personality.

Fox’s films largely removed those traits, instead focusing on her isolation and vulnerability. By the time X-Men: The Last Stand arrived, Rogue’s story had shifted toward her desire to rid herself of her powers altogether.

Marvel’s reboot appears to be taking shape with a different approach. Director Jake Schreier has reportedly been studying Chris Claremont’s influential X-Men comics, while writers Joanna Calo and Lee Sung Jin—best known for Beef and Thunderbolts—have joined the project.

There is still no official casting announcement, and Marvel has not commented publicly on A’zion’s reported involvement.
