The next James Bond era is still wrapped in mystery, but Noel Gallagher is more than ready to step into 007 territory—at least musically.

The Oasis co-founder recently made it known that if producers ever came knocking, he wouldn’t hesitate to say yes to writing a Bond theme.

Speaking during a recent interview with TalkSport (via The Guardian), Gallagher didn’t mince words about the idea. Asked directly whether he’d be interested in composing the next James Bond theme song, he replied, “Absolutely, yeah, of course. It’d be an absolute honor.”

While he confirmed there has been no official outreach from the franchise, his enthusiasm was unmistakable. He also added a very Gallagher-esque qualifier, noting that Bond themes “should be done by Brits not Yanks."

The renewed chatter around Oasis and Bond didn’t come out of nowhere. Gallagher’s brother and former bandmate Liam Gallagher fueled speculation back in December when he teased fans on social media, declaring, “It’s happening…It’s the best BOND tune ever.”

Historically, the Bond franchise has frequently featured multiple artists, with only one—Shirley Bassey, a British artist—singing three iconic James Bond theme songs ("Diamonds are Forever," "Moonraker," and "Goldfinger").

While the series is a British institution, British performers aren't the only ones who have performed Bond theme songs. Carly Simon ("Nobody Does It Better"), Chris Cornell ("You Know My Name") and Madonna ("Die Another Day") are just a few of the many Americans who have performed theme songs.

Gallagher also floated another unexpected idea during the interview: a possible on-screen appearance. He joked about playing a “Mancunian villain” in a future installment.

As for the film itself, much remains undecided. Daniel Craig officially closed his chapter with No Time to Die in 2021, and creative control now sits with Amazon MGM Studios, marking a significant shift for the franchise.

One name dominating Bond casting discourse right now is Callum Turner, who, according to Esquire, has been widely rumored—and reportedly leaked—as the next actor to take on 007. While nothing has been confirmed, Turner’s name continues to trend as fans speculate about what a new Bond era might look like.
