"My happiest times are when I can spend quality time with them and just hear what they’re talking about with their friends and what they’re into," she said.

Garcelle Beauvais has been in the public eye for decades, but at 58, she’s adding a new role to her resume that she says brings her the most joy: being a grandmother.

The actress and TV personality is the latest cover star for Woman’s World magazine, where she opens up about family, resilience, and what it means to thrive in her fifties.

Beauvais, who first broke into the entertainment industry as a model before landing roles in The Jamie Foxx Show, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Miami Vice, has lived much of her life on screen.

Off camera, her proudest moments have come from motherhood, raising her three sons—Oliver, and twins Jax and Jaid. Today, she’s also cherishing the experience of watching her eldest son, Oliver, raise his own children.

“I’m so proud of him,” Beauvais told Woman’s World, reflecting on Oliver’s journey to fatherhood. “He’s such a great dad. He’s so present.”

She added that spending time with her grandchildren leaves her both fulfilled and tired in the best way: “When I leave their house, I’m exhausted, because I forgot how busy toddlers and infants are.”

One of the sweetest parts of her new family role is the bond she has built with her grandson, Oliver Jr. “He has an iPad, so we FaceTime all day long,” Beauvais shared. “It’s the sweetest thing.”

As for what her grandkids call her, Beauvais isn’t going for the trendy nicknames often chosen by celebrities. Instead, she’s sticking with tradition. “Yes, Grandma,” she said firmly. “I didn’t want to do ‘Glamma.’ I guess out of respect and tradition of Grandma, that I love.”

Her reflections in the cover story highlight not just her pride in her family but also her sense of legacy. Watching her son step into fatherhood has been a powerful reminder of the values she passed down. “What has surprised me the most is how much I love not only seeing them, but also seeing Oliver as a dad,” she explained. “As a grandparent, it makes me go, ‘You know what, I must have done a good job, because where is he getting that from?’”
