Just two months after finalizing a divorce that played out in court and in headlines, David Geffen is once again spending time with his former husband, David Armstrong, better known to many as Donovan Michaels.
The pair were recently photographed aboard Geffen’s famed Rising Sun yacht off the coast of Mallorca, Spain, an unexpected development given the bitter legal battle that defined much of the past year. Images published by TMZ show Geffen and Armstrong sitting together on deck, appearing relaxed as they talked during Geffen’s annual Mediterranean gathering.
Geffen, the billionaire entertainment executive whose career helped shape the modern music and film industries, filed for divorce in May 2025 after less than two years of marriage. Because the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement, the separation quickly evolved into a dispute over finances, property, and competing accounts of their relationship.
Armstrong, a former model and go-go dancer who used the name Donovan Michaels professionally and on social media, previously accused Geffen of breaking promises of lifelong financial support.
In a civil lawsuit filed last year, Armstrong claimed that Geffen had assured him they would share assets and that he would be financially cared for, for the rest of his life.
He also alleged that Geffen treated him as “a living social experiment” and “a trophy to show off to his wealthy friends, under the guise of benevolence.”
Geffen vigorously rejected those claims. In court filings, he denied ever promising Armstrong a share of his fortune or lifetime support, describing the allegations as a “contrived attempt” to publicly embarrass him and secure a financial settlement.
Geffen maintained that he had already provided Armstrong with substantial financial support throughout the relationship, including housing, travel, and other expenses.
The legal fight eventually cooled, and the former couple reached a divorce settlement in April 2026. Terms of the agreement were not publicly disclosed.
Now, the atmosphere appears markedly different. Armstrong was reportedly among several guests invited aboard Rising Sun during Geffen’s annual Mediterranean trip, joining a group that included celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, and Kris Jenner.
