Pluto TV, the free television app available on Roku and other smart TVs, has launched a dedicated live channel for Beyond the Gates, providing the popular Black-led CBS daytime soap its own home with more than 90 episodes available at launch.

According to Parade, new episodes will be added eight days after they air on CBS and stream on Paramount+. The four most recent episodes will also be available on Pluto TV’s on-demand section, allowing viewers to catch up at any time.

CBS describes Beyond the Gates as “set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., in one of the most affluent African American counties in the United States; a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home.”

At the center of the storyline are the Duprees, a multi-generational family CBS calls “the very definition of Black royalty,” with secrets and scandals unfolding inside and outside Fairmount Crest’s walls. CBS notes that “those who live outside these gates are watching closely.”

The cast, too, is a who's who of Black television royalty, with Law & Order: SVU alum Tamara Tunie leading an all-star cast that includes Karla Mosley, Clifton Davis, and former Playboy model Daphnée Duplaix.

Behind the scenes, Beyond the Gates is developed and produced by CBS Studios and the NAACP in partnership with P&G Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble.

The series is billed as the first hour-long Black soap opera to premiere in daytime. It was created by award-winning showrunner Michele Val Jean, with Sheila Ducksworth serving as executive producer.

It’s also the first new soap opera to premiere since NBC debuted Passions in 1999.

The show premiered in February and is currently airing its first season on CBS and Paramount+. It has already been renewed for Season 2, which is slated to arrive in early 2026, so the Pluto TV channel will expand as the story continues.
