Beyoncé’s business empire just experienced a major leadership shake-up.
Janki Lalani Gandhi, who played a key role in expanding the superstar’s corporate footprint, has officially exited her post at Parkwood Ventures to join Fifth Down Capital as a managing director.
According to Bloomberg, Gandhi spent roughly four years inside Parkwood’s investment arm, overseeing strategy, business development, and new ventures for Beyoncé’s growing portfolio.
During that time, Parkwood Ventures built a notable investment footprint—one reflected in regulatory filings showing Fifth Down Capital reporting $686 million in assets under management at the end of last year.
Gandhi’s dealmaking background helped support that expansion, particularly across consumer products and brand partnerships tied to the singer’s business interests.
Her track record spans beauty, personal care, and consumer retail. Before joining Parkwood in 2021, Gandhi served as a managing director in Goldman Sachs’ Cross Markets Group, where she advised major beauty and wellness brands. She previously held positions at Lincoln International and Sage Group, building a résumé focused on scaling consumer-facing companies.
Now, she’s bringing that experience to Fifth Down Capital, an investment firm active across food, tech, lifestyle, and robotics. The firm has stakes in companies including Mike’s Hot Honey and defense-tech developer Anduril Industries.
Fifth Down founder and CEO Andrew Spellman expressed confidence in her arrival, writing in a LinkedIn post, “Having known Janki for years, I believe her experience, skill sets, and interests are a tremendous fit.”
Based in the Los Angeles area, Gandhi will remain connected to Beyoncé’s camp in a senior advisory role for Parkwood Ventures, according to Fifth Down’s website. However, neither Gandhi nor representatives for Parkwood and Fifth Down responded to requests for comment on the transition.
At Parkwood, Gandhi supported investments across Beyoncé’s rapidly expanding consumer universe—including the singer’s fragrance releases, Cécred haircare line, and an American rye whiskey named in honor of her great-grandfather. She also contributed to broader brand extensions, such as Beyoncé’s denim-focused collaboration with Levi Strauss & Co. tied to the Cowboy Carter rollout.
What’s next for Parkwood Ventures remains unclear. There has been no public indication of who may step into the managing director role vacated by Gandhi, or whether the position will be filled in the near term.
