Angela Bassett is headed back to Paris—this time not for a film premiere, but for a milestone family moment.

According to People, the Oscar-nominated actress and her husband, Courtney B. Vance, will watch their daughter, Bronwyn Golden Vance, make her formal society debut at Le Bal des Débutantes, one of the most exclusive cultural events in the world.

Bronwyn, 19, is confirmed to attend the 2025 edition of Le Bal, which takes place Saturday, November 29, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris.

The announcement was shared via Le Bal’s official Instagram account, which also offered a behind-the-scenes look at Bronwyn collaborating with renowned French haute couture designer Stéphane Rolland on her custom gown.

One image showed Angela Bassett smiling proudly alongside her daughter and Rolland during the design process. Another featured Courtney with Bronwyn and her twin brother, Slater Josiah.

Le Bal des Débutantes—often shortened to “Le Bal”—has a long and carefully curated legacy. First held in 1958 at the Château de Versailles and revived in its modern form in 1992 by Ophélie Renouard, the invitation-only event brings together roughly two dozen young women aged 16 to 22 from around the world.

The criteria are selective, blending personal achievement, global background, and family legacy. Vogue has named Le Bal one of the world’s most sought-after social events, and it’s frequently described as a high-fashion gateway moment rather than a traditional debutante ball.

Bronwyn joins a lineage of notable participants that underscores the event’s prestige. Past debutantes include entertainment and cultural figures such as Lily Collins, daughter of Phil Collins; Billie Lourd, daughter of Carrie Fisher; Margaret Qualley, daughter of Andie MacDowell; Lori Harvey, adopted daughter of Steve Harvey; and Eileen Gu, the two-time Olympic gold medalist.

The ball has also welcomed European royalty, business heirs, and emerging artists, all set against a couture backdrop that spotlights craftsmanship and philanthropy.
