Alabama Barker isn’t pretending she’s eager to move out—and she isn’t interested in softening the explanation either.
During a recent TikTok Live, the 19-year-old addressed repeated questions from viewers about why she still lives with her father, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, despite owning a sizable home in Los Angeles.
According to Buzzfeed, the topic came up casually while she was getting ready on camera.
Barker revealed that she purchased a five-bedroom house last year but rarely stays there. According to her, the decision to continue living at home wasn’t driven by finances or convenience, but by preference. She said she dislikes being away from her dad and has no issue choosing family over independence.
“I don’t like going there. I hate being away from my dad,” Barker explained, noting that she tried living in the house shortly after buying it but didn’t last long.
She said she stayed there for three weeks before deciding it wasn’t the right move for her emotionally. “I got so homesick,” she said, describing the experience as something she didn’t want to repeat.
While the property isn’t her primary residence, Barker clarified that it’s far from abandoned. She said the house is fully furnished, regularly maintained, and professionally cleaned. She uses the space mainly on weekends, often hosting gatherings there, but emphasized that it’s simply not where she wants to live day-to-day.
Barker also addressed online criticism aimed at her for continuing to live at home while benefiting from her father’s success. Rather than defending herself or reframing the narrative, she leaned into the label. When viewers referenced “daddy’s money,” Barker didn’t deny it.
“That’s why when people are like, ‘Daddy’s money,’ I let them talk,” she said. “Because you’re right.”
The house Barker owns was purchased from her mother, former model Shanna Moakler, after Moakler relocated to Texas. Even so, Barker made it clear she feels no urgency to establish a separate household if it means distancing herself from family.
Travis Barker currently shares his home with his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, their two-year-old son, Rocky, and a blended family that includes Kardashian’s three children with Scott Disick, along with Barker’s son, Landon.
Despite the busy household, Alabama Barker said staying close to her father is non-negotiable. “If I can live with him for the rest of my life, I will,” she said.
