Tracy Morgan Reveals Ozempic Is Helping Him Lose Weight

"It cuts my appetite in half," the comic said of the prescription drug. "Now I only eat half a bag of Doritos."

Tracy Morgan said that he's got Ozempic to thank for his recent weight loss.

During an appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna, the 54-year-old comedian and actor joked that he got up at midday every day before revealing that he's been hitting the gym as of late.

"I get up at 7 every morning, and I'm in the gym at 10, and then I go back to sleep," he said, to which the hosts suggested that he's been working on his body and health.

"No, that's Ozempic," Tracy replied. "That's how this weight got lost. ... I went and got a prescription and I got Ozempic. And I ain't letting it go!"

Pressed for more information, he said that he's been taking the FDA-approved medication, which is often prescribed to people with type 2 diabetes, once a week. "I take Ozempic every Thursday," he continued. "It cuts my appetite in half. Now I only eat half a bag of Doritos." It's worth pointing out that Morgan was diagnosed with diabetes in 1996.

The diabetes medicine, which is administered by injection, has become a big talking point this year because it typically causes weight loss. In fact, Khloé Kardashian was accused of using the drug earlier this year much to the chagrin of some online commenters.

"Let’s not discredit my years of working out," she responded to a person who accused her of using the drug, which they said was "disturbing." "I get up 5 days a week at 6am to train. Please stop with your assumptions. I guess new year still means mean people.”

Plenty of other celebrities have spoken about the drug, too, including Chelsea Handler, who admitted she took it during an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, per Us Magazine. "I’m not on it anymore. That’s too irresponsible,” Handler shared. “I’m an irresponsible drug user, but I’m not gonna take a diabetic drug.”

Last month, Raven-Symoné said that she takes the drug because she has "pre-diabetes" and her family has a history of diabetes. "If I'm not careful with my intake with types of foods, I am more susceptible to getting diabetes," she told E!. "Do what you gotta do, just make sure you save the medication for the people who actually need it."
