Tori Spelling recently faced backlash after she posted a photo of her daughter as "McQuisha in her cheeto extension nails," and now she's garnered criticism once again. In a since-deleted Instagram post, Spelling said she would be hosting a virtual meet and greet with fans during the coronavirus pandemic. When fans clicked on the link advertised in her bio, they were greeted with a webpage that asked them to pay $95 for the opportunity.

"Can't wait to do my first ever virtual meet and greet Thursday, April 9 at 5 p.m. PDT," she wrote. "Only 20 spots available so reserve your spot now." While the post advertising the meet-and-greet has since been deleted, the page to reserve a slot for $95 is still available. Comments on the Instagram ranged for confused, to outright offended. "Damn people are dying, and you still thinking how to gain money from us," one follower wrote, as Fox News pointed out.

Despite the mostly negative response to the meet-and-greet, her husband, Dean McDermott, hopped online to come to her defense. "Hi everybody. I find myself having to come to wife's defense again," he opened a video he shared. "I'm really disappointed because she's catching flak and being dragged for doing a live meet-and-greet. People are upset that, given the current situation we're in in the lockdown and the coronavirus, that she's 'charging' people money to do a meet and greet."

He added that Spelling was approached by a company to do the meet-and-greet. "Because it's Tori Spelling, she gets dragged and she gets the haters coming down on her simply doing something to entertain people, but more importantly, to provide for her family," he said. "So everybody needs to back off and just take a breath and relax."
