NPC Miles Morales, whose real name is Malik Ambersley, might
Ambersley, who recently hung out with Twitch superstar Kai Cenat for his 'Mafiathon 2' stream, gained viral attention in 2023 for his "non-player character" streams as the beloved Spider-Man character. But now he's indicated that he's looking to move on from the gimmick and start streaming as himself, instead of portraying a character.
In a recent stream on Twitch, where he goes by @leaksworld_, a fan asked Ambersley if he's not doing NPC streams anymore. "No, I think I would rather want to be known as me," he replied. "I'll still do the characters every now and then but as in doing the NPC thing, standing outside, I don't think so. I think at some point, I need to branch out."
Elsewhere in the stream, he explained that his good friend Kai Cenat encouraged him to start streaming out of character.
"Kai will tell people, stream bro," he shared. "Stream, be entertaining, be funny, follow dreams of YouTube or Twitch. ... Kai wants people to stream. He told me, 'Bro, don't stop. Stream.' I want to but this is a different version of streaming for me. I'm not used to this version of streaming, everyone is getting to know me. I'm not as much in character, so it's different for me. But, I'mma do it."
Ambersley was recently a guest during Cenat's month-long 'Mafiathon 2' stream, during which he gained a lot of love for hilariously breaking character multiple times. In one viral clip, a fan in the chat asked him what motivates him, and it shocked Cenat enough for him to shoot up out of bed.
"Miles, can you tell me what motivates you or who motivates you? Your Mom, n***a," he said, with Cenat staring blankly in the background as Ambersley effortlessly slipping back into character. In another clip, he grew increasingly irritated by Cenat's streaming, telling him to shut up.
Cenat also surprised him with an appearance from Spider-Verse voice actor Shameik Moore. "Who's this guy? I'm Miles Morales. I'm Brooklyn's one and only Spider-Man," Moore said during the appearance, which prompted Ambersley to reply, "There is no fucking way."
