The artist formerly known as Kanye West thinks Naughty Dog's The Last Of Us Part II is the "best game ever made so far."

Ye took to IG where he shared a short video of him playing the critically acclaimed video game, which was released on PlayStation 4 in 2020 and received a remaster for PlayStation 5 last year. "Last of Us 2 on Survivor + mode got me spending all day on one board," he wrote alongside the clip, referring to the second-highest difficulty after grounded. "By faaaaaaarrrr the best game ever made so far. This is not a sponsored post."

Ye hasn't been shy about his love of video games. In 2018, he put out a public call asking for someone to help him link up with legendary Japanese video game designer Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear Solid series. He's also previously been shown around the now-defunct video game trade show E3 by prolific journalist and Video Game Awards host Geoff Keighley.

The post about The Last Of Us Part II comes ahead of the premiere of the second season of the HBO adaptation starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, which is set to debut sometime this year. While the second game received praise from critics, the discourse surrounding the video game was more controversial among fans online.

Of particular note, some hated the fate of one of the game's most beloved characters, while others expressed hate for the switch in protagonists to Ellie, a young lesbian woman. Another major criticism came from director Neil Druckmann's personal politics, which received renewed focus when he donated to both Israeli and Palestinian emergency funds in October 2023.

Perhaps Ye is also looking forward to Naughty Dog's new game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which was announced last month and will feature an original score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails.
