In Kim Kardashian’s new cover story with Complex, she briefly opened up about the state of her relationship with her ex-husband, the artist formerly known as Kanye West.

Speaking with Aria Hughes, Kim offered a rare update on how things are between her and Ye these days. The couple started dating in 2012, got engaged the following year, and married in 2014. They share four children, and despite their issues leading to their divorce in 2021—finalized the following year—they’ve found a way to peacefully co-parent.

“We’ll always be family,” she said after she was asked about when she praised Ye’s designs for the Yeezy brand while sporting a Yeezy heel in Aspen. “We both know that. We will be okay, and there's so much love for our family. We want what’s best for our kids. I couldn’t deny the Yeezy heel, so I had to shout it out.”

In a video shared via TikTok last month, she showed a breakdown of her outfit for a photo shoot in Aspen, which she paired with Yeezy boots. “Then I put it with these Yeezy boots,” she said in the clip. “I will say, there’s nothing like a Yeezy heel. I don’t know if they ever made these or just made them for me. I love when a shoe is tonal to the pant.”

After years of family drama, the former couple reportedly put their issues aside for Christmas last year for the sake of their four children.
