Singer and actress Jordin Sparks announced that she’s gotten into screenwriting, and she wants to talk with Halle Berry about her new script.

Sparks, who won the sixth season of American Idol when she was just 17, shared a post on Wednesday (Jan. 28) that spawned bewildered reactions from her followers.

“Hiiii @halleberry!” the 36-year-old wrote on X. “I sent you a dm because I wrote a screenplay about hormones and menopause and know you’d be the right person to talk to about it! Hope you’re having a great day!”

Berry, 59, has been open about her experiences with menopausal symptoms and is a co-founder of the company Respin Health, which focuses on menopause care. Last year, she urged everyone to vote on California’s Menopause Care Equity Act (AB 432), and called out Gov. Gavin Newsom for pushing back on the bill.

"Not every woman can afford it. It's not exactly cheap," she said at the time, referring to the hormonal replacement therapy that many women need to help with perimenopause and menopause.

"But we exactly deserve it. … I can tell you this, men have that little blue pill covered by insurance. Men need to keep their penis' up. I get it, I'm in support of that. And I beg you all to be in support of women also living their best lives in their second act, too.”

Sparks’ tweet might not have come out of nowhere, considering Berry’s experience with menopause, but it still raised eyebrows on social media. Sparks had never expressed an interest in screenwriting until the post, and she asked Berry very publicly about a potentially sensitive subject.
