Harrison Ford on His 'Rise of Skywalker' Appearance: 'I Have No F*cking Idea What a Force Ghost Is'

Not the guy to go to for settling 'Star Wars' fan debates.

Harrison Ford has never really made it a secret that he's just playing the role of Han Solo, you know, because he's an actor. And thus he's also always made it pretty clear that he doesn't give a damn about the ins and outs of the Star Wars universe. At this point the sometimes crazed diehards that make up the more rabid portions of that fan base even seem to enjoy Ford's grouchy shtick, which is good because it made an appearance again on Friday.

Specifically, during an interview with USA TODAYto promote his new film The Call of the Wild (which comes out on February 21), Ford talked about his iconic Star Wars character making a cameo in 2019's The Rise of Skywalker, which is noteworthy because Han was killed off in 2015's The Force Awakens.

After saying that J.J. Abrams persuaded him to return to the series, even though he was (again) dead, Ford said that he came back because it was good for the growth of his ingrate son, Kylo Ren. He was then asked about the online debate about whether Han's return made him a "Force ghost." In case you're in the same sort of boat as Ford *looks in mirror* here's how USA TODAY put that:

Those sentences prompted Ford to say, "A Force ghost? I don’t know what a Force ghost is."USA TODAY says that Ford then lowered his voice to a whisper so as not to draw the wrath of the aforementioned fans. "Don’t tell anyone," he added. "I’m not talking loud enough for your recorder. I have no fucking idea what a Force ghost is. And I don’t care!"

Said by anyone else that might not be so charming, but with Ford you know the drill by now. He's not the guy, repeat not the guy, to ask for resolutions on fan debates.

Here's what Star Wars fans had to say about Ford's comments below.

Again, you can see his new movie, The Call of the Wild, beginning this Friday.
