'Ted Lasso' Star Hannah Waddingham Admits She Kept a 'Game of Thrones' Prop

Before she won an Emmy for her role in Ted Lasso,' Hannah Waddingham famously shamed Cersei Lannister in the HBO series 'Game of Thrones.'

Before she won an Emmy for her role in Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham famously shamed Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones. As Septa Unella, Waddingham walked the character through the streets in the nude, ringing a bell as she repeated, “Shame! Shame!” In an interview on The Kelly Clarkson show, Waddingham admitted she kept the integral bell prop after she filmed the show.

“I loved you in Game of Thrones,” Clarkson told Waddingham, before asking whether she kept the shame bell. “Yes,” she said, “Well that’s also when you know that your character’s really dead. When you give you the hero thing of your character, they’re like, ‘Thank you very much, goodbye.’”

Septa Unella’s fate was actually left unclear by the end of the show, although she was imprisoned and slowly tortured by Cersei Lannister the last we saw of her in Season 6. With how everything ended in Season 8, specifically in regards to the Battle of King’s Landing, it’s safe to assume that Unella is dead by now. Waddingham added, though, “I feel like I’ve been very lucky that these huge shows have just gone, ‘Come in and do this.’”

Outside of her roles on Ted Lasso and Game of Thrones, Waddingham has also appeared in Netflix’s Sex Education.

Check out the interview with Waddingham and the small prank they played on her above.
