Halle Berry has addressed comments about the risqué video featuring her boyfriend, Van Hunt, that she shared on Mother's Day.
In the clip she shared, Berry was under the bed covers with Hunt while she held a bottle of lubricant, which she promoted as she talked about the convenience of the travel-size bottle. As reported by USA Today, she appeared on Today and told Bush Hager that she hopes the intimate video will encourage more people to be open about sexuality.
"Other women got in their feelings and [said] 'Was it right for her to be in her bed talking about spinning with her man?' Yes!" she said. "And they were saying, 'Should she be talking about that on Mother's Day? Shouldn't she be with her kids somewhere?' First of all, it's not 'Kid's Day.' It's called Mother's Day. It's Kid's Day every day of the year. That's my day. If I want to be in bed and spin with my man, then that's what I'm going to do."
She also shot down the suggestion that any is right to be offended by the video.
"It's the most natural thing we do as women, as men. And for people to be offended by that, saying, 'Instagram is a family channel!' Well, yeah, and we should be allowed to talk about this in our families," she said. "We have sex. It's the most natural thing we do. Men do it; women do it. ... It's really important that men and women still keep having orgasms into their later years because that's how we stay healthy. ... You saw nothing. So we're in a bed—so what?"
In the video she shared last month, she said that she documented how her Mother's Day started and wanted to let her fans know how she planned to end it, too. Hunt jokingly told her to "hurry up" in the video, to which she replied that he's "never been so happy to have Mother's Day come to an end." After the clip, she hilariously shut down a horny fan who asked if they could "watch" her and Hunt in bed together.
Recently, her longtime boyfriend Van Hunt revealed that he's already proposed to her, but there are no plans for them to get married soon. “Well, I’ve been married three times," she added. "Van has been married once, and so no, we don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don't. ... But I think we will get married."
