People are sharing their favorite instances of people "crashing out" on social media.
In a post shared on Friday, August 23, journalist Elliott Wilson asked his followers on X, formerly Twitter, "What's your favorite crash out?"
The term "crash out" has seen a bit of a resurgence recently, specifically regarding its use to refer to someone losing their mind or doing something stupid, dangerous, or embarrassing in a moment of anger, desperation, or good old-fashioned mania.
The responses to the prompt have included everything from public freak outs and insane interviews to classic scenes from movies. Check out some of the best examples of iconic crash-outs below.
That time a man forced an entire flight to deplane after his meltdown over a crying baby
A potential candidate for an all-time classic crash-out, one person shared a brief clip from a video showing a man causing a scene over a baby crying on a Southwest Airlines flight.
"We are in a fucking tin can with a baby in a goddamn echo chamber and you wanna talk to me about being fucking OK?" he says in the classic clip, in which he was told to calm down because he was yelling. "So is the baby!" he replied.
When Joe Budden chased down Drake fans and threatened them
In 2016, rapper-turned-podcaster Joe Budden was involved in a beef with Drake. At one point during the height of the beef, some of Drizzy's fans ran up on Budden to troll him and he responded by chasing them down as they attempted to flee in a vehicle. "If you come on this fucking block again, I'm going to kill one of you little n***as," he said. "This is not the internet. I will kill one of you."

One of the more popular examples of a crash-out from a movie that people have shared is from the 2002 romantic comedy Brown Sugar. In the scene, Taye Diggs' character Andre 'Dre' Ellis catches his wife Reese, portrayed by Nicole Ari Parker, on a date with another man and immediately starts to spiral.
"I'm trying to order the most expensive bottle of champagne, 'cause we 'finna celebrate," he says. "We 'finna celebrate what? My divorce!"
Ray J trolling Fabolous on The Breakfast Club after they got into a fight
Ray J and Fabolous got into a fight during the weekend of the 2011 Mayweather vs. Ortiz boxing match in Las Vegas, and when he called The Breakfast Club to explain his side of the situation, he had a lot to say.
After asking if he was live on the air, he said he wasn't going to curse before immediately dropping a homophobic slur. "Don’t disrespect me. I’mma smack you up again fool," he said. "All I’m sayin’ is if you got Fab’s number, tell that n***a to send a picture of his face right now."

In 2018, someone shared a clip of a voicemail they received from a wrong number that instantly went down in the pantheon of all-time great mistaken number incidents.
"This is for Rachel you big fat white nasty smelling fat bitch. Why you took me off the motherfuckin schedule with your trifflin dirty, white racist ass. You big fat bitch, Oompa Loompa, body ass bitch," the unidentified woman said in the voicemail. "I'm coming up there and I'm gonna beat the fuck out of you, bitch and don't even call the police today cause I'm gonna come up there unexpected and wait on your motherfuckin ass bitch. I'm coming to beat the fuck out of you, bitch."
When a hairstylist roundhouse kicked an anti-abortion protester
In 2018, a video went viral showing a man delivering a roundhouse kick to an anti-abortion protester who was antagonizing him. Per the Washington Post, the man was later identified as hairstylist Jordan Hunt, who lost his job after the clip circulated online
"If somebody gets raped by somebody, and they’re like, ‘I’m a 16-year-old, and I can’t have this baby,’ think you should keep it?" he said in the clip to the woman on the other side of the phone, Marie-Claire Bissonnette. "It's a baby," she replied, to which he started to wind up a dramatic spinning kick.
Flavor Flav eliminating Tiffany Pollard on Flavor of Love
While it might be hard to believe these days, Public Enemy hype-man Flavor Flav used to have a dating reality series on VH1 from 2006 to 2008.
In one particularly tense episode, Flav chose to eliminate contestant Tiffany Pollard, whom he gave the nickname "New York." "Why the fuck did you bring me back?" she responded. "I'll piss on his grave, how's that? And that's me being real, fuck him."
Birdman: "Stop playing with my name"
Birdman famously walked out of a Breakfast Club interview back in 2016, which spawned an instant viral phrase.
"All three of y’all stop playing with my name. Stop playing with my fuckin’ name… When my name comes up, respect it," said Birdman in the tense interview. He was reportedly upset with recent Breakfast Club interviews with Trick Daddy and Rick Ross, during which the topic of Cash Money's business practices came up. "I ain't go no more talking," he said as he got up and left after less than two minutes of the interview.
