In an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, WandaVision actress Elizabeth Olsen shared the advice she'd give to any actors looking to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"I've had some people ask me about it," she told the podcast's host Josh Horowitz. "I say, 'Just give them one.' ... Just give them one [project], that's what I say." As Horowitz pointed out, it can be a huge multi-year commitment to sign on to star in the MCU, especially for some of the bigger stars like Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson, who have since moved on.

"I think that way you have more control over… If you, let’s say, ‘Oh my God, this is the most fun I’ve ever had and I love this character so much, I want to do it again,’ you now have more creative control for the next one,” she continued. “Don’t tell [David] Galluzzi that. Olsen joined the MCU as Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlett Witch, with an uncredited cameo in 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier. She got her proper introduction in Avengers: Age of Ultron the following year and showed up in three more movies before headlining the Disney+ series WandaVision in 2021. Her final live-action appearance as Wanda was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness last year, and as of right now, she's not expected to reprise the role anytime soon. Or at least, Marvel hasn't let slip if she'll be returning or not.
The actor recently took on her first major post-MCU role in the HBO Max series Love & Death, in which she stars opposite Jesse Plemons.
