Charlize Theron Won't Have Dreads for Cipher's Return in 'Fast & Furious 9'

When Charlize Theron made her debut in The Fast and Furious franchise in 2017's The Fate of the Furious, she did so with an interesting hair style. Her character Cipher, a cyber terrorist who manipulated Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto, sported blonde dreads that weren't exactly the best look on her. Now she's set to make her return in Fast & Furious 9, which hits theaters next year, and thankfully she's not bringing the dreads along this time around.

In a post on her Instagram and Twitter, Theron confirmed that she would be returning in the latest installment of the action-packed franchise. Instead of the hair she had the first time around, however, she's sporting a sleek new bobcut. "She's baaaaack," she teased. When we last saw her character, she had escaped from her airbase via a parachute, so it looks as though she'll be back to terrorize Toretto and the rest of the gang in the ninth main film.

For those unfamiliar with how Cipher previously looked, check out her dreads below.

Justin Lin will return to direct the latest Fast and Furious, and he's bringing along a lot of heavyhitters for the absolutely stacked cast. Alongside the usual Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Tyrese Gibson, Dame Helen Mirren will make her third appearance in the series of films. John Cena, Finn Cole, and Michael Rooker are also among the extensive cast.

Fast & Furious 9 is in theaters May 22, 2020.
