UPDATED 5/31, 10:30 p.m. ET:Netflix announced Season 6 of the anthology series Black Mirror will premiere on June 15.
The new trailer for the upcoming season teases a few episodes, starting with “Joan Is Awful,” where a woman played by Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek) discovers Salma Hayek Pinault is portraying her in a series on the streaming service Streamberry, an obvious spoof of Netflix.
All five episode titles were revealed on Wednesday, along with cast listings, directors, and brief plot descriptions. “Joan Is Awful” will also feature Michael Cera, Himesh Patel, and Rob Delaney, with direction from Ally Pankiw. “Beyond the Sea” comes from John Crowley and stars Aaron Paul, Rory Culkin, Josh Hartnett, and Kate Mara; while “Mazey Day” has Zazie Beetz and Danny Ramirez, with direction from Uta Briesewitz; “Loch Henry” is helmed by Sam Miller.
Creator Charlie Brooker wrote every episode, teaming with executive producer Bisha K. Ali on “Demon 79,” directed by Toby Haynes (Andor).

Netflix has dropped the first teaser for the long-awaited return of the Charlie Brooker-created anthology series Black Mirror.
Featuring appearances from Aaron Paul, Salma Hayek Pinault, Zazie Beetz, and Rory Culkin among countless others, the action-packed teaser showcases the level of acting talent fans can expect to see from the first new slate of Black Mirror episodes since Bandersnatch in 2018 and Season 5 in 2019. The new episodes are set to hit the streaming giant in June.
“I’ve always felt that Black Mirror should feature stories that are entirely distinct from one another, and keep surprising people—and myself—or else what’s the point? It should be a series that can’t be easily defined, and can keep reinventing itself,” said Brooker, per Netflix’s Tudum. “Partly as a challenge, and partly to keep things fresh for both me and the viewer, I began this season by deliberately upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect. Consequently, this time, alongside some of the more familiar Black Mirror tropes we’ve also got a few new elements, including some I’ve previously sworn blind the show would never do, to stretch the parameters of what ‘a Black Mirror episode’ even is. The stories are all still tonally Black Mirror through-and-through—but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before.”
Other stars set to appear in the new season include Anjana Vasan, Annie Murphy, Auden Thornton, Ben Barnes, Clara Rugaard, Daniel Portman, Danny Ramirez, David Shields, Himesh Patel, John Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Monica Dolan, Myha’la Herrold, Paapa Essiedu, Rob Delaney, and Samuel Blenkin. The last season featured just three episodes, but it’s unclear how many installments fans can expect from Season 6.
