Police identified the suspect in the killing of comedian Reggie Carroll—and YouTuber Billy Sorrells says he believes Katt Williams is involved, too.
As TMZ reported, Carroll died aged 52 following a shooting in Southaven, Mississippi, on Wednesday (Aug. 20).
Police received reports about a shooting, and when they arrived at the scene, they discovered Carroll was suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite attempts to revive him at the scene, he ultimately died after being taken to the hospital.
Tranell Marquise Williams, 38, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with Carroll's death, Fox 13 reported.
Fellow comedian Sorrells, meanwhile, has suggested that Katt Williams is somehow involved with the fatal shooting of Carroll and said the property where he died is linked to Williams. Williams and Carroll have frequently toured together.
In a lengthy video shared on Instagram, seen above, Sorrells indicated that Williams needs to "tell the truth" about what happened to Carroll. While he didn't directly say that Williams was responsible for his death, he did suggest some level of involvement.
“We not gonna act like, Katt … You ain’t know who Reggie Carroll was,” Sorrells said in the video. “Katt Williams, you’re the truth teller! You the master of being able to tell everybody else this shit. You God of War, you ready for anything, right? You the guy! You said my team versus whoever else. Well… I know you love Reggie, we all did. Reggie was a solid n***a, he didn’t pick sides. So, Katt Williams tell me why Reggie Carroll died outside your house? Tell us what happened to Reggie Carroll, Katt."
He also suggested that Trenell Williams is related to Katt Williams, or at least worked closely with him in some form.
"Why y'all left Reggie on the motherfucking curb by your crib, n***a?" he said. "Tell us why. Tell us why Reggie Carroll died at your house, n***a. ... Why you quiet? We ain't get a, 'Hey man, RIP.' You said it's the year of truth, well tell the truth, n***a."
Despite Sorrells' serious allegations against Katt Williams in the video, it's unclear whether he and Trenell Williams are related. Katt Williams has not responded to Sorrells' accusations.
Prior to his death, Reggie Carroll performed stand-up comedy with the likes of Mo'Nique. He also produced a stand-up special titled Knockout Kings of Comedy.
