Onijah Andrew Robinson has returned to New York City after her viral trip to Pakistan, and she claims that her trip wasn't all for naught.
Earlier this year, the 33-year-old NYC woman flew to Karachi, Pakistan, with 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon after they allegedly had an online relationship. When she arrived, his family disapproved of the union and he refused to get married to her after previously expressing a desire to tie the knot. Now TMZ has caught up with her after she's returned home, and she clarified some rumors going around about her viral trip to Pakistan. She also indicated that she and Memon got hitched after all.
"I'm glad to be back in New York," she said. "I didn't go to jail. I was just stuck in Dubai. ... I was there for a month." Asked if she's still in contact with anyone in Pakistan, she revealed that she got married while out there.
"My husband, he lives in Pakistan," she said. "I love you, baby. We are together. We wanna clear up the rumors. ... This is my husband, Nidal Ahmed. ... We met on a romantic date. We met through the internet." She was asked if she has any plans to go back to Pakistan soon, but she said that her priority for now is getting her husband to visit her in New York City.
During the viral saga of Robinson's trip to Pakistan, she was left stranded in the country after his family disapproved of the relationship. She reportedly camped outside of Memon's former residence, which the family vacated during the whole ordeal, until her tourist visa expired. She then demanded $3,000 per week and Pakistani citizenship.
Despite her claims that she got married, it's worth noting that she made similar comments before. In a clip circulating online in February, she said she got married to Nidal Ahmed Memon during her visit to Pakistan. "We're going to have our baby in Dubai," she said. Her alleged son, Jeremiah Robinson, has claimed that his mother has bipolar disorder.
