High school plays, except for the ones depicted in movies like Rushmore, aren't exactly known for their production values. All the dry adaptions of Shakespeare's many classics must get boring for all the children's parents after some time. A New Jersey high school decided to switch it up by bringing Ridley Scott's 1979 classic, Alien, to the stage.
The North Bergen High School Drama Club decided to recreate the film using entirely recycled materials. From the costumes to the sets, they managed to get a lot of mileage out of minimal resources. They even released a trailer for the play before it took place. Thankfully, some of those in attendance were able to showcase some of the scenes, including the iconic facehugger sequence.

'Dora and the Lost City of Gold' is set to hit theaters Aug. 2.
Their play was so impressive, in fact, that the official Alien account on Twitter chimed in. "We are impressed! 40 years and still going strong," the account tweeted. What's even more impressive is that the school doesn't even have an official drama department.
Perfecto Cuervo, an English teacher at the school, spoke with Entertainment Weekly about how it all came together. "My inspiration was just that I’m a huge fan of the movie," explained Cuervo. He added that it took him two months of on-and-off work to adapt the screenplay for the stage. Cuervo previously helped the drama club put together a Night of the Living Dead adaption.
