SEGA GUY #1: "Hold on, guys! I've got a brilliant idea! Let's take Sonic and a bunch of side characters that no one cares about, and have them duke it out in a laggy, graphically challenged 3D envoirment!"
SEGA GUY #2: "It's so crazy, it just might work!"

Complex Says: Hey remember when Chris Nolan took the Batman franchise and made it darker, thus making it twenty times better? Well this game is like that, but instead of better it became twenty times more turrible. Adding guns to a Sonic game doesn't make things edgier, it just feels like misguided nerds trying to become hardcore by buying black combat boots and ninja throwing stars.

Complex Says: This game was another link in the abusive relationship between Sonic and his fans. He was coming back, this game was gonna be good to us this time...but every time we try to have some fun, he beats us until we're reminded why we shouldn't have bought this game. The graphics melted into a jittery mess when Sonic got up to speed, which made the game unplayable—and, more importantly, unforgivable.
