The force is strong with fans who watched Star Wars: Force Awakens in New York City on Thursday night. John Boyega, who plays Finn in the latest Star Wars film, showed up to several screenings and surprised fans last night in NYC. The force was really strong.
Luckily, for those of us who weren't in NYC or able to catch Boyega pop up at a theater near us, one fan caught the entire moment on camera. In the video clip above, Boyega tells fans that he wanted to stop by after watching a different franchise film. "I was watching The Chipmunks, and I decided to say hi. Thank you for supporting this movie."
In the video clip above, fans are clapping and shouting in excitement when they learn it's Boyega who popped up to say hello. Boyega shared many pictures and videos on Instagram. One video was captioned, "Amazing energy from Brooklyn fans! I did random pop ups so they had no idea! Some pop ups before the film and some after the film. Love it!"
According to Gothamist, Boyega showed up to theaters at Union Square, Times Square, Lincoln Square, Court Street, and Willamsburg. One thing is for sure, Boyega made a lot of fans happy. In the video clip above, Boyega departed the screenings with a friendly Star Wars motto, "And obviously may the force be with you."
