Shannade Clermont has been sentenced to 12 months in prison on charges of wire fraud. Southern District Court of New York Judge Naomi Buchwald sentenced the reality TV star and model after she pleaded guilty to one count of felony wire fraud.

The Clermont twin allegedly stole and then used the credit card of a man who passed away either during or after he had set up a date with Shannade as an escort.

The former star of Bad Girls Club was found to have made over $20,000 in fraudulent charges using the information from two cards that belonged to the deceased man. The official statement on the sentencing claimed that Clermont purchased flights, paid rent and other bills, and bought luxury clothing with the cards. They added that Clermont used a fake email address to wire money from the late man via Western Union. U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said, in essence, that Clermont got what was coming to her in the statement.

"Former reality TV ‘Bad Girl’ Shannade Clermont lived up to her on-screen persona, as she admitted to stealing the debit card information from a man she visited for a prostitution date in his Manhattan apartment," he said. "When the man died of an overdose, instead of notifying the authorities or calling for help, Clermont callously chose to use the man’s debit card information to make tens of thousands of dollars in illegal purchases. As Shannade Clermont has now learned, her real-life bad behavior has real-life consequences, and has now landed her in federal prison.”

In addition to her prison sentence, Clermont will face 3 years probation and will have to pay nearly $5,000 in restitution
